Katherine Gorr
Music Teacher
General Music for Pre School, 1st 3rd, 4th grade hand chimes and 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade Choir and Handbells
Mrs. Gorr has been teaching pre-school through 8th grade for 17 years. Katherine holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree, from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey – with an organ concentration. She is Kodaly and Orff certified and completed graduate studies at Appalachian State University and Indiana University. She is the proud recipient of the Mother Theodora Guerin award 2008-2009, and a Teacher Creativity Fellowship for the Lilly Endowment in 2018.
In addition to her duties at St. Charles, she is also the Music Director and Organist at First United Methodist Church in Martinsville, where she directs the Adult Choir, Children’s Choir and a Handbell Ensemble. She and her husband have four children and one granddaughter.
Mrs. Gorr loves accompanying for the St. Charles Folk Groups and directing musicals!
